Chronoglossa: No Time, No Detail

Ryan de Bruijn holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the Willem de Kooning Academy and is a visual designer and interdisciplinary artist working across visual language systems, speculative design, installation, branding, motion graphics, 3D design, and typography. His practice explores the space between clarity and experimentation, creating visual systems that communicate, provoke reflection, and function as societal interventions and critiques. Extending beyond communication, Ryan’s work positions design as a medium of critique and speculation. His visual systems operate simultaneously as functional identities and as frameworks that invite questioning, reflection, and play.

Chronoglossa is a three-dimensional visual language system that critiques society’s relentless pace, inviting viewers to slow down and rediscover beauty. The project features a 170 cm alien-like 3D-printed sculpture, complemented by wooden panels with infographic elements that reveal the rules of the system, blending sculptural form with speculative visual communication.
